According to the Al-Mayadeen news network, Hezbollah announced that the attack came in response to the Zionist regime’s attacks against villages and residential homes.
“In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza and in solidarity with their brave and honorable resistance, and in response to the Israeli enemy’s persistent targeting of villages and civilian homes, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance at 12:15 am on Thursday, December 21, 2023, targeted the settlement of Kiryat Shmona (the occupied town of Al-Khalsa) with a salvo of Katyusha rockets,” the statement said.
Hezbollah also vowed to not relent in defending Lebanese villages and towns, saying it will reciprocate the enemy’s aggressive acts against them.
It came a day after the resistance movement targeted multiple Israeli military positions near the border between Lebanon and the occupied territories.
